The ‘Company’ shall mean Lextorah, or Lextorah School of Language, or Lextorah Limited or Lextorah Consult, or Lextorah Group or LSL. 
The ‘Client’ shall mean the person in whose name the registration is made and shall include the person or persons on whose behalf the same is made. 
The ‘Student’ shall mean the person who is participating in the course. 
Force Majeure’ shall mean any event outside the Company’s control which prevents the prompt performance of its obligations, including natural disasters, war, civil strife, acts of terrorism and political unrest, etc.

2 – week Weekday Courses:

Consist of 40 hours of tuition, with 4/5 Four-hour lesson per week.
Face-to-face and online courses.

4-week Weekday Courses:
Consist of 48 hours of tuition, with three four-hour lessons per week.
Face-to-face and online courses.

8-week Weekday Courses:
Consist of 48 hours of tuition, with two three-hour lesson per week.
Face-to-face and online courses.

12-week Weekend Courses
Consist of 48 hours of tuition, with one four-hour lessons per weekend ( Sundays/Sundays).
Online courses only.

Exam Prep Courses

4-week Weekend Courses:

Consist of 16 hours of tuition, with one four-hours lessons per weekend ( Saturdays/ Sundays).
Face-to-face and online courses.

6- week Weekend Courses

Consist of 48 hours of tuition, with two four-hours lessons per weekend ( Saturdays and Sundays).
Face-to-face and online courses.

12- week Weekend Courses

Consist of 96 hours of tuition, with two four-hours lessons per weekend ( Saturdays and Sundays).
Face-to-face and online courses.

Students are required to be 16 and over, and should complete an online level test to confirm their language level, where necessary. If any student attending our courses is under the age of 18, they must inform us by email (info@lextorah.com) at the time of their booking.

Materials

Text books and course materials are not included in the course/tuition fees, so students will have to purchase these Text books/course materials prior to their course. The Company will advise which book is required and this can be purchased at the school. In class, students may receive additional learning materials appropriate to the level of the course.

Course materails are photocopied course and work books made available to registered students at subsidised fees.

Minimum Number of Students

We require a minimum number of 3 students to be able run a group course on the 8-week or 4-week courses. Whilst the vast majority of courses easily meet this requirement, in some cases some unfortunately do not. We will always try our hardest to run all of our courses as advertised, but cannot guarantee that courses which don’t meet the minimum student number will be able to run. For courses on 3 students the courses could be run on a reduced number of weeks:

8-weeks courses:

• With 2 students reduced to 6 weeks (should another student enrol during its first week, the course will run for 8 weeks)

4-week courses:

• With 2 students reduced to 3 weeks (should another student enrol during its first week, the course will run for 4 weeks)

• Where a group class is converted to a private one-on-one class with only one student, the total number of hours to be spent for the class will be half of the initial total number of hours scheduled. For example, a 48 hour Language course will now become a 24 hour language course.

1) If the minimum number of students is not met, this is the process we will follow:

• 1. Where possible we will offer you a place on a confirmed course on a different course type (onsite/online) Or we may decide to merge groups or convert classes, which may also require a change of course type..
  2. Where a move to another course type is not practical, the course may still run (at the Company’s discretion), even if the minimum number of students is not met. Should neither of the above options be practical, your course fee will automatically be converted into a global Lextorah credit, valid for one year. You can choose to:
  3. Use your credit as full or part payment towards any of our products worldwide. Our advisers will be happy to help you choose a suitable course for you.
  4. Keep your credit and defer a term, in order to take your originally chosen course at the next available start date. Courses run throughout the year with regular start dates. Please consult our website for your next available course start date. Please note that if your course fails to meet the minimum student number required in the next term, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to run the course.
  5. Request for the credit to be refunded back to you in accordance with our Cancellation & Refunds policy.

For quality reasons the maximum number of students admitted per course is 10 for our face-to-face courses and a maximum of 8 students per group for our online courses.

Where a course takes place during a public holiday, no lessons will take place on that day and no reduction in price will be given except where specifically stated. Individual classes are usually rescheduled (but not always) but group classes are usually forfeited. Please consult the accompanying list of public holidays (although it is the client’s responsibility to check these since they are often subject to change).

1) No contract is made between the Company and the Client and no booking is valid until the Company has issued a course confirmation invoice by e-mail (an e-mail acknowledging payment or receipt of an order does not constitute a course confirmation invoice). The Company will issue the course confirmation approximately one week before the start date of the course .

2) During the booking process we supply naira, dollar, euro and any other currency rate as a guideline only. We will always take payment in Naira =N= and the amount you are charged will depend on the exact exchange rate at the time of payment.

Variation to fees

We usually set, and hold, our fees for a calendar year. Fees are chargeable based on the fee for the course published in the brochure or on the website for the year in which you choose to study. However, if you book a course before 1st November for the following year you may choose to be charged the fee at the current rate. Please note that if you extend your course, additional weeks will be chargeable at the fee applicable on the date that you extend your booking.

1) In the event that a Client wishes to cancel their course, they must notify the Company as soon as possible in writing. Cancellations by phone will not be accepted. Please email info@lextorah.com to cancel your course. The following terms apply:

i. All refund and deferral applications must be made at least fourteen (14 days) before the course start date initially booked.
ii. Refund applications made up to fourteen (14) days before the course start date will be eligible for a full refund minus a N10,000 administration fee. Alternatively you can postpone your booking to a later start date with no administration fee deductions applied.
iii. Refund applications made fourteen (14) days or less before the course start date cannot be accepted: no refunds are available and you will no longer be able to transfer your booking to a later start date.
iv. No refunds are available for non-attendance.
v. Credit card fees are non-refundable.
vi. Due to the nature of the courses, we cannot, in any event, pro-rata classes or transfer unused class time to another course.
vii. No refunds are available based on continuation teacher’s availability.
viii. How to claim a refund: You must notify the Company in writing/ by email, following your cancellation. All refunds will be subject to the terms and deductions outlined above.

2) In the event the Company is unable to run a course, or make suitable alternative arrangements under the Minimum Number of Students policy, the course may either be discounted or the Client will be entitled to a full refund, including any credit card fees.

Discounts or Refunds will be processed within 10 – 14 working days of notification of the discount or refund.

3) Where orders were previously modified and administration charges or penalties incurred, a full refund no longer constitutes the original value of the booking, but is subject to deductions of these charges as detailed above.

4) Where a particular service(s)has been offered or is in progress, refund application in this instance will not be granted. Services in this category includes Langauge training,  Translation, Interpretation and International University Placement. 

5) All refunds exclude the registration fee (N5000). If the registration fee was waived at time of booking it will be deducted from the total refund payable.

6) Booking Cancellation:
Bookings made remotely (by telephone, email, online) may be cancelled within fourteen (14) days of the initial booking in writing info@lextorah.com.

Attendance and Deferment 

Students are expected to attend lessons regularly and on time. Students forfeit course fees if they are late, absent, or leave before the course ends or stops attneding classes.

Students who abandone thier course for whatever reason, cannot continue with the class once the course end date has lapsed. The start and end dates of a particular course are stated in the course confirmation mail.

A student who has paid the tuition and registration fee due, may defer his/her commencement of the course(s) to a later date, if written notice is received a minimum of two weeks prior to the commencement of the course and before the course mail is sent to the student. Students can defer only once – there is no fee for this deferment, though students will have to pay any increase in course fees. A class that has started with the student in attendance or in progress cannnot be deferred. 

1. As a policy, Course Deferment is generally not encouraged unless on compassionate grounds, and approval is granted at the sole discretion of the School. All deferment requests must be supported by official documentary evidence accepted by Lextorah.

2. Lextorah adopts the following principles in considering a student’s application for deferment:

   1. Students can only apply for deferment once in each course

   2. The deferment period cannot be longer than the course duration, unless the school decides otherwise

   3. The period of study resumed shall be the same as the deferred period granted

   4. The actual period of deferment will also depend on the availability of the course that the student missed during the period of deferment.

1) Courses are not confirmed until the course confirmation email has been sent, approximately one week before the start of the course. The company may change the course offering, dates, times, location before the course confirmations are issued.

2)  The company will do its utmost to provide the arrangements that have been confirmed, but it must reserve the right to modify or cancel any course if unforeseen circumstances arise. This includes but is not limited to, providing a substitute teacher for teacher sickness or absence, cancelling a lesson and offering an alternative date, postponing the course for one/two week(s), offering alternative suitable locations, course type or levels. If force majeure occurs while a course is in progress, the company will try to make reasonable alternative arrangements, such as delivering courses online.

3) The Company requires a minimum number of students to be able to run a course. For further information, please refer to our policy on Minimum Number of Students.

The Company accepts responsibility for ensuring that all parts of the course are supplied as described and that all services shall reach reasonable standard. However the Company shall not be liable for the failure or improper performance of these services where such failure or improper performance is attributable to:

1. fault of the client or student.
2. unforeseeable or unavoidable actions of an unconnected third party.
3. unusual and unforeseeable circumstances beyond the Company’s control, including force majeure.

1) If the Client wishes to change their booking in any way after the payment confirmation mail has been issued or sent before the course confirmation mail is sent, they must inform the Company immediately. For further information, please refer to your course type under the Cancellation & Refunds policy.

2) If the Client is unhappy with the teacher or any aspect of the teaching they must inform the Company immediately in writing. The Company cannot deal with issues or complaints retrospectively. The Company reserves the right to offer solutions to the issue such as speaking to the teacher about the problem, changing the teacher, offering the Client an alternative course, course type or location. In the unlikely event that a Client is unhappy with their course, we require the Client to attend a minimum of 3 lessons, in order to give a reasonable amount of time for any improvements and changes to be experienced. After the Client has made a complaint in writing we require the Client to attend a further two lessons in order to give a reasonable amount of time for any improvements and changes to be experienced. The Company will make every attempt to ensure the Client can continue with their course as a satisfied Client.

3) Should the Client decide that the level of their course is too high or low for them and they would like to change, they will need to request a transfer in writing (via email) in the first 2 weeks of their 8/12-week course. If they are taking a 4/6-week course, they will need to send their transfer request in the first week of the 4/6-week course. If they are taking one of our one-week courses, they will need to request it before the second lesson of the course.

4)In the event that an acceptable solution cannot be found, the Client may escalate their complaint as per the Complaints Procedure.


 Descriptions


1. The Company believes that all statements made on its website or in printed material are factual and correct. Every reasonable effort has been made to describe the schools and environments and to provide the amenities described. The Company cannot therefore be held responsible for any changes that become known after any printed materials are produced (up-to-date information can be found on the Company website), nor can the Company accept liabilities for happenings outside its reasonable control. The Company undertakes to advise the Client of any changes known to it prior to the course.
2. The Company cannot be held responsible for incorrect information printed or online by associate websites. Please refer to the Company website for up to date information.

Visas

We do not grant students visa nor assist student in getting visa.

Any special requests must be advised to the company in writing. Please feel free to make known to us any medical conditions or other needs, which you feel might enable us to provide you with a higher level of personal service and attention. Any information received remains confidential.
